Napoli striker Edinson Cavani has been burgled while away on international duty with Uruguay, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The forward has been notified of the crime by police, and was also told that items including jewellery, clothing and a selection of football shirts he had collected throughout his career had been stolen on Saturday evening.

Cavani featured in Uruguay’s 4-2 World Cup qualifying victory over Bolivia in Montevideo on Friday, getting on the scoresheet in the process.

The 24-year-old is also expected to play for his national side when they travel to face Paraguay in midweek.
