Chelsea keen on Griezmann deal

Chelsea are ready to make a move for Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, according to the Metro.

The France international, who only moved to the Vicente Calderon last summer, has a release clause of £43.5m – a fee which the Blues are ready to meet as they once again look to refresh their forward line for next season.

Of their current selection, Didier Drogba is set to retire; Loic Remy has been linked with a move away from the club and top scorer Diego Costa continues to struggle with a hamstring injury.

Griezmann has made forty-nine appearances in all competitions for Atleti so far this season, scoring twenty-five goals.

He also has sixteen caps for his country, scoring five goals and was part of Didier Deschamps’ squad for last summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.

Jose Mourinho’s side drew with Arsenal on Sunday afternoon to move a step closer to securing their first league title in five years.
