(GSM) – Manchester City are ready to offer Joe Cole an incredible £180,000-per-week deal in the summer according to the Daily Express. Accodring to the paper, that contract would be signed on a four-year duration and would then be worth nearly £40 million.

The Chelsea midfielder is set to become a free agent at the first of July after talks with the club broke-down.

The demand is great on the 28-year-old as Manchester United, Tottenham and a host of European clubs are reportedly chasing Cole’s signature.

Cole is capped 53 times for his country but is not certain to make England’s World Cup squad after not featuring for much of the season as a string of injuries limited his first-team appearances this season.

If Cole signs the reported City contract, he will become the highest paid player in the Premier League.
