Coyle expects bidding war for Cahill in January

Bolton boss Owen Coyle believes several European clubs will be locked in the battle for Gary Cahill come January.

Arsenal had several bids rejected for the England international earlier this summer and they are likely to make a fresh bid next January.

However, Owen Coyle is confident the Gunners won’t be the only team to come asking for Cahill.
“If I’m honest I think there will be more than just Arsenal coming back in January,” Coyle was quoted as saying in The Sun.

“Arsene likes him as a player, that goes without saying. He’s been up front and honest about it.”

Coyle admits any deadline day bid would have been taken into consideration.

“If it had come to the last minute, and a club came in, I’d have been open to it. As it was, nobody got close.”

Recent reports suggest that new Inter boss Claudio Ranieri is also keen on the England international.
