CSKA beat Spartak in Moscow derby

(GSM) – CSKA Moskva moved into second place in the Russian Premier League following a 1-2 win at Spartak in a capital city derby.

After Zenit St. Petersburg win over Rubin Kazan on Saturday, CSKA had a perfect opportunity to climb a spot and position themselves in second place.

But it was in fact Spartak to break the deadlock on 71 minutes as the unfortunate Vassili Berezoutski directed the ball past his own goalkeeper to hand the hosts a 1-0 lead.

CSKA kept their cool however and Sergei Ignashevich restored the balance 11 minutes later. In the final minute, Brazilian Vágner Love even netter a winner for the visiting side.

CSKA are now at nine points from leaders Zenit and one point ahead of Rubin. Spartak remain stuck in seventh place.
