Tottenham have had a bid accepted for Moussa Dembele after meeting his 15 million-pound buyout clause, Fulham have confirmed.

The in-demand midfielder is set to undergo a medical at White Hart Lane with the transfer expected to be finalised on Wednesday.

The Belgium international was left out of Fulham’s 1-0 League Cup defeat against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday, with a statement released afterwards on the club’s website.

The statement read: “Martin Jol confirmed post-match that the club has accepted a bid for Mousa Dembele from Tottenham Hotspur.

“The player is currently undergoing a medical.”

Several English Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal, were also reported to be interested in his services.

Dembele impressed for Fulham in their 3-2 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, saying on the same day he wanted ‘to go to the top’.

The 25-year-old, signed from AZ Alkmaar in 2010, confirmed earlier in August that Spanish giants Real Madrid had made contact with his agent over the possibility of a move, though Jose Mourinho has since signed Luka Modric from Tottenham.
