Siena attacker Mattia Destro said he is flattered at the revelation Serie A powerhouse Juventus are interested in signing him.
A number of reports suggested that Juve – second in the Italian top-flight – are considering making a move for the Italy Under-21 star at season’s end, and Destro is pleased to have caught Juve’s attention.
“It is very pleasing to hear that Juve are interested in signing me. I have been a fan ever since I was a kid,” Destro told Il Corriere dello Sport.
“However, I just want to focus on Siena for now.”
The 20-year-old added that AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Juventus forward Marco Borriello are two players he looks up to.
“Ibrahimovic is one of my role models, while I like Borriello a lot,” Destro said.
Destro came through the ranks of the Inter youth academy, but left the Milanese outfit for Genoa before breaking into the first team.
He was loaned out to Siena at the start of the 2011-12 campaign and has since impressed with a string of fine displays.
