Roma coach Luis Enrique wants his team to be more clinical in front of goal after their 1-0 win over Parma in Serie A on Sunday.

Roma had on-loan striker Fabio Borini’s goal against his parent club to thank for the narrow victory, despite creating a host of other opportunities,

“We played a difficult match today and I think my team did almost everything well – only I would have preferred them to take better advantage of the chances they had to score,” Enrique said.

“Everything else was great, they played at a top level against a good team – Parma came from two victories and three draws, so they’re playing well at the moment.”

“I think today was spectacular because we had seven or eight clear chances to score and that’s my idea of a team doing their job, when you’re winning 1-0 but you continue to play till the end of the game.”

Enrique praised his side’s improved defensive efforts. Since their 4-2 loss to Cagliari on February 1, Roma have conceded just two goals in four Serie A fixtures.

“We let Parma have only one chance to score through (Stefano) Okaka, but for the rest of the game we remained focused and I think it’s fair to say we played an excellent match,” he said.

“Today I saw a Roma much more difficult to beat and that’s the Roma I always what to see, that’s what I want from them.”
