Barcelona defender Eric Garcia has agreed on a new contract with last season’s La Liga winners, according to TBR.
Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are interested in Garcia, but the two Premier League clubs have been informed that the former Manchester City defender has now decided to extend his stay at Barcelona.
Journalist Graeme Bailey told TBR: “At one point in the summer with Garcia’s contract expiring, there was real interest with Chelsea and Spurs both keen.
“He is a class act and has Premier League experience; he ticks a lot of boxes.
“However, Garcia has since become a big player under Hansi Flick, and he is not going anywhere.
“I am told in recent weeks, his people have confirmed that a new deal is imminent.”
Barcelona are second in the La Liga table at the moment with 22 points from 10 matches, five points behind leaders and bitter rivals Real Madrid.
