Espanyol in talks with Lucas Vazquez after Real Madrid exit

Espanyol are interested in signing Lucas Vazquez in the summer transfer window, according to Fichajes. Vazquez is a free agent at the moment, having left Real Madrid earlier in the summer transfer window.

According to the Spanish media, Vazquez is in talks with Espanyol. The 34-year-old, who can play as a right-back or as a right-winger, spent the 2014-15 campaign on loan at the Catalan club from Madrid.

Vazquez came through the Madrid youth system and established himself in Los Blancos’ first team. During his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, the 34-year-old won the La Liga title four times and the UEFA Champions League on five occasions. It remains to be seen what Vazquez does regarding his next club. Espanyol finished 14th in the La Liga table last season and will be determined to do much better this time around.
