Anzhi Makhachkala striker Samuel Eto’o says that he has not considered leaving his Russian Premier League club since arriving last year.

The four-time African Footballer of the Year said on Friday he intends to stay at the big-spending club for the rest of his career, amid rumours of an eventual move to the USA or central Europe.

“I’ve never thought about leaving Anzhi since I came here. Not for a single second. Moreover, I intend to play with Anzhi until the end of my career,” Eto’o said.

The former Cameroon skipper added that he has great ambitions for the Dagestan-based outfit.

“I’m happy to play in Anzhi and I’m set to win something serious with my club, maybe in the Champions League if we’ll have enough luck. And I hope I’ll be able to play five or six more years here before hanging up my boots,” Eto’o said.

Turning to the subject of racism, Eto’o revealed that he has not been affected by any racist abuse in Russia.

“The problem of racism keeps many people on the alert but I have nothing to complain about.”

“I know that Roberto Carlos had certain problems before my arrival in Makhachkala but this problem did not affect me at all.”
