Dwight McNeil was on the verge of leaving Everton for Crystal Palace. Even his medical was done, but Palace pulled the plug on the deal at the eleventh hour, after their sale of Jean-Philippe Mateta to AC Milan fell through.
McNeil is said to be devastated by this development, but Everton midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye says the winger is very important for the Toffees.
