(GSM) – Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has stated that the Andalusian club have no plans to sell star striker Luis Fabiano to Milan this summer.

The 29-year-old, who is reportedly a target for the Serie A giants, has been linked with the Rossoneri’s for a while, with vice-president Adriano Galliani having hinted at a summer swoop for the Brazil international.

The Brazilian, who was Sevilla’s top scorer for the La Liga season with 15 goals from 18 starts, has continued to impress at the World Cup, scoring twice in Brazil’s 3-1 win over Cote d’Ivorie on Sunday.

But rather than looking to cash in on their prize asset, Del Nido has confirmed Sevilla are aiming to agree a new deal with Fabiano.

“We are negotiating with the player for the renewal of his contract,” he told La Repubblica.

“There has been no contact with Milan.”

The former Porto striker has one year on his current contract at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan but indicated last month he would be open to a move to Milan should they revive the interest they showed in him last summer.
