Father of Eredivisie wonderkid says Milan, City and Lyon all keen

The father of AZ Alkmaar midfield sensation Adam Maher, Ider has revealed that his son was approached by Milan, Manchester City and Lyon.

Barcelona are reportedly keeping tabs on the 18-year-old, with their scouts set to make a check on the youngster, but they are just one of interested sides.

The player has previously rejected offers from a number of high-profile clubs, according to his father.

“He could have joined AC Milan, Manchester City or Olympique Lyonnais a few years ago,” Ider Maher told De Telegraaf.

“It was too early for a move abroad, though – and it still is. Adam is still too young for such a big step. There’s plenty of time to leave in three or four years time.”

Despite his fragile age, Adam Maher has developed into a key player for AZ Alkmaar, the team that currently have a six-point cushion at the top of Eredivisie standings.
