Groningen are slim favourites to come out on top in their opening league game against FC Twente on Wednesday night, with the home side having taken four points off the visitors in their two league meetings in 2014/15.
Strong in their own backyard, Groningen beat Twente 2-1 in this fixture last season, and could well repeat the feat given their relative consistency on home soil in the last 12 months. Both sides are desperate to start the new season off in perfect fashion, but Twente are struggling of late, and it could see the misery piled on by Groningen.
The favourites are coming off the back of an impressive Eredivisie campaign that saw them finish just one place outside a Europa League playoff spot in 2014/15. As a result, they are expecting to earn all three points against a Twente side who last season won just five of 17 away games.
The visitors also conceded more goals than the majority of the sides in the division on the road too (28), which sees Betfair backing the home side to come away with the points this evening.
