Real Madrid are looking at potential defensive reinforcements for next summer, and with several high-profile centre-backs approaching the ends of their contracts at their respective clubs, they are believed to be interested only in the possibility of getting what they want without paying a transfer fee.
Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, along with Bayern Munich’s Dayot Upamecano and Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate, was believed to have been on the radar of the Spanish giants until reports broke about Real apparently pulling out of the race.
Now, however, AS claims Los Blancos are very much interested and prefer Guehi to both Konate and Upamecano. Furthermore, they expect the England international to prioritize a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, rather than Anfield, at the end of the season. If, that is, Real take concrete steps to get the transfer done.
The 25-year-old has already made it clear he would not be signing a new contract with Palace.
