Coventry City star Haji Wright does not want to move to Leeds United in the January transfer window, according to Football Insider.
Leeds manager Daniel Farke is keen on strengthening his attacking unit in the middle of the season, and 27-year-old USA international star Wright is one of his main targets.
Journalist Pete O’Rourke said: “They [Coventry] will want to keep hold of their star striker as they want to try and continue their fine form and try and win promotion to the Premier League, which would be huge for the club.
“He’s under contract until 2027, so they’re under no immediate pressure to cash in on him and, the situation Coventry find themselves in now with Frank Lampard’s side flying, they won’t want to lose any of their top players in January.
“They’ll want to now look to finish the job off and win promotion back to the Premier League and, for the player himself, seems he’s happy at Coventry.
“He’s playing well and he’ll have his eyes on the World Cup with the USA in the summer as well, so moving midway through season might not be ideal for him.
“So, I would fully expect Coventry to keep hold of Haji Wright and the player himself looks like he’s happy there and Coventry don’t really need to sell.”
