Lazio’s Hernanes feels he is ready for a recall to the Brazil national team as he prepares to make his 100th appearance for the Serie A club.

The 27-year-old featured only intermittently during Mano Menezes spell in charge of Brazil, earning just eight caps since making his debut back in 2008.

But with new coach Luiz Felipe Scolari at the helm, former Sao Paulo player Hernanes is in line for a return ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

“I have confidence in myself and I will take up a place in the national team,” Hernanes told Corriere dello Sport.

“It’s happened so fast, it seems like I arrived in Rome only yesterday. Instead I will feature against Parma in my 100th game with the Biancoceleste in two years and four months.

“I dedicate my first 100 appearances for Lazio to the fans and to my team-mates. They are the secret of my success.”

Scolari has already endorsed Hernanes as a potential candidate for his national team squad ahead of the World Cup on home soil.

“Hernanes is having a great season at Lazio,” he said.

“I am following him.”
