Marcus Rashford has hopes of winning more trophies with Barcelona, having clinched his first in the Supercopa de Espana on Sunday.
Barcelona claimed a record-extending 16th Supercopa title after beating Clasico rivals Real Madrid 3-2 in the final, with a Raphinha brace and a goal from Robert Lewandowski enough to secure the victory.
Rashford, who joined Barca on loan from Manchester United in July, came on in the 83rd minute and had a chance to add to the Blaugrana’s tally, only to shoot wide.
But the 28-year-old was just thrilled to get his hands on the first trophy of the season, which he hopes the team will build on.
“I am very happy,” Rashford told reporters. “It’s the first trophy [with Barca], and it’s always the best feeling to win the first one.
“I hope now we can win some more. I hope it’s not the last one.
“It was a top performance. This is what we’re capable of doing. There are still areas to improve, but we can enjoy this moment.”
Rashford has made 27 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions, netting seven goals and registering 11 assists in that time.
The Blaugrana hold an option to buy the forward at the end of the season, and though sporting director Deco said no decision has yet been made, reports suggest they are keen to keep hold of Rashford.
And the England international has also spoken of his desire to extend his stay in Catalonia.
“It’s really good [being at the club],” Rashford added.
“When we win, it makes it so much easier. Throughout the season, even in moments when we have not played so well, we stick together and act as a team.
“For me, it’s perfect, and I am really enjoying my time here.”
