Jack Grealish expressed his gratitude to David Moyes, saying he loves the Everton boss “to pieces” following his winner against Bournemouth.

The Toffees claimed their first ever league victory at the Vitality Stadium, where Grealish’s deflected strike in the 78th minute sealed all three points on Tuesday.

Grealish has been a regular feature under Moyes since his loan switch from Manchester City, making 12 Premier League appearances, while scoring two goals and providing four assists.

And the England international, who kissed the badge on his shirt while celebrating his winning goal, said he is relishing working under the Scotsman.

“I love the manager to pieces,” Grealish told Sky Sports.

“I have only known him for a few months and I can’t speak highly enough of him as a person and how he makes me feel – how he makes me want to go there and play for him, so credit to him.

“All the teams I’ve played on loan for, even at Notts County, I was so lucky to have a good connection with the fanbase. This is another one. [Everton fans] have been so good to me.”

Everton boss Moyes also paid tribute to the winger, while praising his players’ response to their heavy 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.

“The fans love Jack, they certainly do. He is certainly a top player and has continued to show it,” he said. “I want him to score more, make more assists, but he has made a big difference and he is loved by everybody.

“We’ve won three of the last four. We had a disappointing defeat at the weekend, but the players have bounced back well and kept a few clean sheets as well, which is always important.”

Meanwhile, Bournemouth have now lost four of their last five Premier League games, and Andoni Iraola conceded his side were lacking the courage to compete.

“We played the game that Everton wanted to play,” he said. “A low-rhythm game, not a lot of chances for any of the teams. We haven’t been good enough.

“Today, I don’t think we have been brave enough on the ball, and this makes you look worse defensively. We were defending well, but when you don’t control games, things can happen.”
