Injury setback not stopping Ramos

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has revealed he is being plagued by injury, but is playing on due to his side’s shortages in defence.

Fellow Real full-backs Marcelo and Fabio Coentrao are still unavailable due to injury, while Alvaro Arbeloa only recently returned to match action after a spell on the sidelines.

Ramos says he has opted to play on despite a muscle problem.

“It’s true that I don’t feel 100 per cent, and that I’m not fully fit because of muscular problems,” Ramos was quoted as saying by Marca.

“Now isn’t the time to stop though, because we have injuries to key players in defence. We have to be there as a team.”

The 26-year-old has made 15 appearances for Real this term.
