Italian giants battling for Uruguayan wonderkid

Roma, Udinese and Palermo are all interested in Nacional de Montevideo striker Nicolas Lopez, Itasportpress reveals.

The 18-year-old has only featured six times for Nacional first team, scoring three goals in the process, but has already attracted interest from a number of Serie A clubs.

The player and his agent traveled to Italy in August to talk to interested clubs, but no agreement was reached.

According to the latest reports, Lopez and his representative Pablo Bentancur are now trying to engineer a January exit from Nacional.

The agent has even offered to pay the €1.6 million release clause so as to allow his player to move to Italy in January.

The two parties are close to reaching an agreement, which would allow the player to speak to interested clubs.
