Arsenal will hand Jakub Kiwior a new contract if the defender stays, according to TBR.
While the defender has indicated to the Gunners that he wants to leave for regular playing time elsewhere, the Premier League club could give him a new deal if no move happens before the end of the summer transfer window.
Journalist Graeme Bailey told TBR: “I believe he’s still got three years left on his deal. But the club recognises the shift he put in last season.
“They know he’s a top-quality Premier League defender, and they’re willing to give him a pay rise.
“Yes, there might be a contract extension involved too, but they also know he wants to play regular first-team football.
“We’ve been talking about him for three or four transfer windows now. He’s been on the radar of a lot of Italian clubs.
“It’s not surprising, especially considering the amount of managerial turnover in Serie A, that’s my understanding. We’ve seen a lot of changes at clubs like AC Milan, Juventus.
“It’s been tough for those clubs. When new managers come in, it becomes harder to move players on.
“But there are a lot of players who need to leave Italian clubs, and that could have a knock-on effect on the Premier League.”
Bailey added: “So that coaching shake-up in Italy has had an impact, including on Kiwior. I still think we’ll see a lot of movement between Serie A and the Premier League.
“If Kiwior stays this window, I think he’ll get a new deal. But I also think there’s still a chance he leaves.”
