Joao Felix is set to continue his career in the Saudi Pro League, according to multiple sources. Al-Nassr have reached an agreement with Chelsea over the proposed transfer of the 25-year-old attacker, expressing willingness to pay a fee totaling up to £44million, including add-ons. Chelsea have, however, managed to include a “hefty” sell-on clause.
Chelsea signed Felix from Atletico Madrid last summer, but the Portugal international failed to live up to expectations at Stamford Bridge. He was sent to AC Milan on loan for the second half of last season, but though the Rossoneri had the option to turn the deal permanent, they reportedly had doubts about his ability to perform consistently and they opted to send him back to London.
As Felix’s second spell at Chelsea draws to a close, a loan spell there in the second half of the 2022/23 season being the first, he made a total of just 40 appearances for the Blues in all competitions, contributing no more than 13 goal contributions – 11 goals and two assists.
