Fiorentina co-owner Andrea Della Valle has confirmed that Stefan Jovetic will ‘definitely’ stay a the club.
Goal.com exclusively revealed earlier in August that Manchester City were keen on signing the 22-year-old attacker for around 30 million euros, while Juventus’ interest has been known for over a month.
Della Valle reiterated the club’s desire to keep the Montenegro international though, and said that the former Partizan forward would have to wait until the end of the new Serie A season to open contract talks.
“Jovetic will definitely stay here,” he told La Gazzetto dello Sport.
“I told him that in nine months we sit down and see what to do with his future.
“I think the reception that the city has given him has convinced him to stay, but even if he did, he knows that this year is going to Florence.”
Della Valle also hinted Fiorentina could complete a new striker signing in the final week of the transfer window.
By hinting his surname begins with a ‘B’ he narrowed the possibilities down to Manchester United outcast Dimitar Berbatov, unwanted Arsenal attacker Nicklas Bendtner and surplus Roma striker Marco Borriello.
“This week we will complete the rose,” he hinted.
“There will be an important engagement. Does the name start with the letter B? Yes, it may do.”
