Dusan Vlahovic, set to represent Serbia against Latvia and England over the coming days, remains at Juventus for the time being, despite numerous reports suggesting he was on course to leave the Serie A giants. As things stand, this is the final season on his contract, and unless a new one is signed before the end of the year, he will be able to negotiate terms with other clubs from January 1st.
The situation obviously puts Juventus in an unenviable position. The prospect of losing a player, for whose services they paid over €80 million three and a half years ago, for free, certainly doesn’t look appealing from their point of view. However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri are still considering whether to offer the 25-year-old a new deal or not.
With Jonathan David now at the disposal of coach Igor Tudor, Vlahovic has lost his place as the first-choice striker at Juventus, and the arrival of Lois Openda has increased competition further. However, the Serb came on from the bench to score in both Serie A games Juve have played this season so far.
