Competition: Europa League
Market: Liverpool to win against Bordeaux
Odds: 1/2 @ William Hill

Liverpool host Girondins de Bordeaux in the Europa League on Thursday night, and are expected to comfortably dispatch of the French Ligue One outfit at Anfield. New manager Jurgen Klopp has quickly made himself a hero in Merseyside following impressive wins against stellar opposition, and Thursday’s meeting with Bordeaux should see the Reds come out on top once more.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their Europa League group this season, but have only won once for their troubles. Nevertheless, the Merseysiders are second after four games and on course to make the knockouts. Two points off FC Sion at the summit, a win this week could see them go top depending on other results, but the top-two square off in the final outing, so Liverpool’s destiny is in their hands.

Bordeaux have hardly been a threat in Europe this season, failing to win in their four outings, and with only one goal scored on the road it’s unlikely they will pose much of a problem to Liverpool. All but out of the competition, it would take a miracle for the French outfit to qualify in the top-two, and they could well prioritise domestic duties over their fledgling European hopes as a result.

Liverpool have beaten the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City in recent weeks, and Klopp’s philosophy finally looks to be shining through. They will have a strong squad to get the job done again Bordeaux to put pressure on Sion, and good fortune could see the Reds leading the group with a game to go at the end of Thursday night’s Europa League matches.
