Man United face fight to keep Fernandes

According to Manchester Evening News, clubs in Saudi Arabia, as well as in top European leagues, are likely to test the resolve of Manchester United to keep Bruno Fernandes.

The Portugal international was a subject of strong interest from Al-Hilal this summer. Apparently, the Saudi club tabled an offer of £100million for his services, but both United and Fernandes rejected the offer, with the player saying he would only consider leaving Old Trafford if the club decided the time for that had come.

At the moment, Fernandes is under contract with United until the summer of 2027, which obviously means the agreement will enter its final year at the end of this season, and unless the team’s fortunes on the pitch improve dramatically, it will be interesting to see if he remains so set on staying put.

Apparently, the salary he would be earning in Saudi Arabia if he moves there in January will amount to around £700,000 per week, which is more than double his current pay at United.
