Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed the signing of Maxwell from Barcelona, with the Brazilian joining on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

It was announced on Wednesday that the Ligue 1 leaders had agreed a deal with the Catalans for the Brazilian full-back, who only had six months left to run on his existing contract with the La Liga outfit.

Maxwell travelled to Paris on Thursday to finalise his contract with PSG and undergo a medical.

With all of the outstanding formalities now being resolved, the player has completed his switch to the capital club.

The 30-year-old left-back joined Barcelona from Inter Milan in 2009 yet never managed to nail down a regular place in coach Pep Guardiola’s starting line-up.
