Inter Milan striker Diego Milito is hopeful he will be fit for Tuesday’s Serie A clash with Genoa after coming off in Saturday’s win over Fiorentina.

The Argentine picked up an ankle knock in the second half of Inter’s 2-0 victory, but is optimistic of being fit to face his former club in midweek.

“Unfortunately, I took a knock,” Milito told Inter Channel. “I twisted my ankle a bit, but let’s hope it’s nothing serious and that I can be on the pitch on Tuesday.”

Inter can go above Genoa in the standings with a win at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, but Milito knows the three points will not be easy to come by, particularly in light of their hosts’ fine 2-0 win at Siena.

“The Rossoblu are a great team with great values,” Milito said. “We’ll find a difficult place to play with fans that always urge on their team.”

“(On Saturday) they won in a tough stadium like Siena. They’ll be motivated and they’ll run a lot.”

“But we’ll go there to win because the three points we won against Fiorentina have given us the spirit to fight.”

Inter currently are ninth in Serie A on 17 points, one behind Genoa, with both sides having played 13 games.
