Moratti reveals €25 million bid for Tevez

Inter president Massimo Moratti has confirmed that the Neroazzurri have offered €25 million for Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

The Argentine striker was thought to be on the verge of joining Milan, but the Rossoneri failed to reach an agreement with Manchester City.

Milan wanted to take Tevez on loan with an option to buy, but Manchester City were only interested in an outright transfer.

As soon as it was revealed that Milan were out of the race, Inter made a move for Tevez and tabled a €25 million bid.

“There are no secrets in football,” Moratti told Controcampo. “The offer is €25m. Now it is up to City whether they accept that bid or not.

“However, I do think that there are a number of other clubs who are interested in him. There are some English sides and also Paris Saint-Germain.”

The Inter patron made the statement after the 1:0 victory over bitter rivals Milan, which saw the Neroazzurri return to the title race.

“At this moment in time it seems that we don’t need Tevez, but football gives a different answer on a daily basis.

“I would keep all of the players that are in the squad right now, but there is still time until the transfer window closes. We’ll wait and see.”
