Napoli travel to face Empoli tonight needing all three points in their bid for Champions League football next season. Rafael Benitez’s side have overcome their slump in the division, and will lock horns with Empoli off the back of three consecutive league wins.
The Blues could reduce the deficit to third-placed AS Roma to just two points if they can win their game in hand, so they cannot afford anything less than victory. The future of their manager is in doubt this season, and the chances of him stay at the San Paolo are increasingly slim should Napoli finish outfit of the top-three.
As for tonight’s game, Napoli have been in good recent form, but their performances on the road have left a lot to be questioned. Their victory at Cagliari earlier this month was their first away from home for more than two months.
