No regrets for Neymar

Neymar insists he is satisfied with his decision to reject the advances of Barcelona in order to remain at Santos.

The teenage forward has been heavily linked with a move to Camp Nou over the past few months, but he recently penned a new contract with his club which will keep him in Brazil until 2014.

“I made the right decision,” Neymar told Lancenet. “I do not regret staying at Santos at all.”

“If it was not for Santos, I would not have the profile I now have inside and outside the country.”

“Everything fell into place and I am having a good time, and the team too.”

Neymar has been favourably compared with Lionel Messi, but having gone head to head with the Barca forward during the Club World Cup in December, he believes that the Argentine is currently without equal.

“Messi is fantastic,” the 19-year-old striker said. “And he has demonstrated with his goals and his playmaking. That is why he is the best in the world. There is no better.”

Neymar has already been capped 15 times by his country and has eight international goals to his name.
