Valencia started building a new stadium, called Nou Mestalla (the New Mestalla) in 2007, with the aim of replacing the historic venue of Estadio Mestalla. They were, however, forced to cease the work due to financial difficulties.
Now, the club has secured financing and the work has restarted.
