Patrice Evra set for summer exit

French defender Patrice Evra is widely tipped to leave Manchester United at the end of the current campaign, according to The Guardian.

The 33-year-old has entered the final six months of his deal at Old Trafford and he has yet to be offered a contract extension.

And with David Moyes heavily linked with moves for Leighton Baines and Luke Shaw, it appears Evra’s spell at Old Trafford is coming to an end.

A return to French Ligue 1 appears on the cards for the experienced full-back, with Monaco reportedly leading the chase for his signature.

Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be keen, although the Saints are unlikely to make a move unless either Maxwell of Lucas Digne leave the club.

It was from Monaco that Evra joined Manchester United in the first place and it appears as though he could be returning to Stade Louis II some eight years later.
