Paris Saint-Germain and Nice will lock horns with each other in Ligue 1 this coming weekend. The match between Luis Enrique’s side and Francesco Farioli’s team will be held at Parc des Princes and is scheduled to kick off at 8pm UK time on Friday.

Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain are the dominating force in French football and regularly win the Ligue 1 title. And the expectation is that PSG will clinch the title again this campaign. However, the Parisian club will have to work hard, especially after the changes that they have gone through.

Luis Enrique is now the head coach of PSG. Neymar has left. Lionel Messi is no longer at the club. Kylian Mbappe is back in the squad and is banging in the goals for fun. Randal Kolo Muani, Manuel Ugarte, Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Bacola and Marcos Asensio are among the players who moved in the summer transfer window.

PSG are second in the Ligue 1 table at the moment with eight points from four matches. Les Parisiens are two points behind leaders AS Monaco. PSG kicked off their league campaign with a goalless draw with Lorient at home before playing out a 1-1 draw with Toulouse on the road. They have since beaten Lens 3-1 at Parc des Princes and and Lyon 4-1 at Parc Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1.

Team News:

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique is likely to line up his team in a 4-3-3 formation. Gianluigi Donnarumma will be in goal for PSG. Achraf Hakimi, Masquinhos, Milan Skriniar and Lucas Hernandez will be the four defenders. Warren Zaire-Emery, Manuel Ugarte and Vitinho will be the three midfielders and will have Ousmane Dembele, Marco Asensio and Kylian Mbappe as the forwards.

Nice

Nice are a big and established club in Ligue 1. They tend to do well and ended up as high as ninth in the league table last season. Francesco Farioli’s side will be determined to do just as well this time around.

Les Aiglons were quite busy in the summer transfer window. Nice signed centre-forward Terem Moffi from Lorient, left winger Jeremie Boga from Atalanta and left-back Romain Perraud from Southampton from other clubs. Attacking midfielder Calvin Stengs and centre-forward Andy Delort are among the players who left.

Nice are eighth in the Ligue 1 table at the moment with six points from four matches. They are just a point behind fourth-placed Reims. Les Aiglons kicked off their Ligue 1 campaign with a 1-1 draw with Lille at home and then came a 1-1 draw with Lorient on the road. Nice then played out a goalless draw with Lyon and beat Strasbourg 2-0 at home in Ligue 1 just before the international break.

Team News:

Nice head coach Francesco Farioli is likely to line up his team in a 4-3-3 formation against Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes. Marcin Bulka will be in goal for the home team. Dante and Jean-Clair Todibo will be the two centre-backs and will have Youcef Atal and Melvin Bard at full-backs. Hichem Boudaoui, Youssouf Ndayishimiye and Morgan Sanson will be the three midfielders. Gaetan Laborde, Terem Moffi and Sofiane Diop will be the three forwards.

Key Factors to Consider

  • Paris Saint-Germain have scored 8 goals in 4 Ligue 1 matches this season.
  • Paris Saint-Germain have conceded 3 goals in 4 Ligue 1 matches this season.
  • Nice have scored 4 goals in 4 Ligue 1 games this campaign.
  • Nice have conceded 2 goals in 4 Ligue 1 games this campaign.
  • Kylian Mbappe has scored 5 goals in 3 Ligue 1 matches for Paris Saint-Germain this season.

Conclusion

While Nice are doing relatively well at the moment, Paris Saint-Germain have arguably the best and strongest squad in France and are also at home for this particular game. It is hard to see anything but a win for the defending French champions.

Prediction: Paris Saint-Germain to win 3-0
