Premier League preview: Norwich v QPR

Norwich City host Queens Park Rangers on Saturday as the newly promoted sides hope to continue their impressive form.

The Premier League meeting at Carrow Road pits Norwich – who sit ninth – against Neil Warnock’s side who are just two spots below on the table.

After a bright start to the season, the Canaries are without a win in their last four matches and with 17th-placed Wolves just two points behind them, Paul Lambert’s side will be under no illusions of the importance of Saturday’s match.

But they will not find it easy against a resurgent QPR outfit, who are fresh off a 3-2 win at Stoke City.

After a 6-0 drubbing to Fulham on October 3, questions were asked about Warnock’s side and their fight for survival.

QPR bounced back strongly though, with a 1-0 win over Chelsea the highlight of the club’s season so far.

They have dropped matches to Tottenham and Manchester City in recent times but in those encounters, which they were expected to lose, they showed enough quality to suggest they will be in the Premier League for the start of the 2012-13 season.

Icelandic forward Heidar Helguson is in a hot streak of form, having scored five goals in his last five appearances, while Joey Barton has impressed in the middle of the park for QPR this season.

Norwich have also had little trouble scoring goals this season, netting 10 times in their last five outings.

Anthony Pilkington has been terrific for the Canaries this season, with the former Huddersfield attacker bagging four goals and setting up several others.

Strikers Steve Morison (four goals) and Grant Holt (three goals) have also caused problems for opposition defences.

James Vaughan (knee) and Zak Whitbread (hamstring) remain on the sidelines for Norwich, while DJ Campbell (metatarsal), Rob Hulse (knee) and Keiron Dyer (ankle) are still some time away from returning for the visitors.
