PSG set to hijack United’s deal for Nico Gaitan

Paris Saint-Germain have joined the race for Benfica star Nicolas Gaitan, according to A Bola.

Some English media yesterday reported that Manchester United had already agreed to sign the Benfica forward.

The player’s agent denied the deal, while hinting that Gaitan could move to Old Trafford at the end of the season.

However, Paris Saint-Germain have also shown interest in the Argentine forward and are pondering a January bid for the player’s services.

Gaitan is adamant he is happy at Benfica and that he doesn’t want to leave the club, but the Eagles may not be able to resist a big money offer.

The 23-year-old recently renewed his contract at La Luz, but his release clause stayed the same, €45 million.
