Aaron Ramsey will miss Arsenal’s next two games against Liverpool and AC Milan, Arsene Wenger has confirmed.
The Welsh midfielder has not played since the Gunners’ 2-0 FA Cup loss against Sunderland and will be sorely missed in midfield as Wenger prepares for the clash against one of his side’s challengers for the Premier League’s fourth spot.
The Frenchman told Sky Sports: “It is too early for him. He has no chance for the weekend. He will be out for Milan as well.”
On a positive note, however, Wenger revealed that Andre Santos looks set to return to first-team action within the next few weeks.
The Brazilian has been missing since undergoing ankle surgery in December with the Gunners struggling for cover at left-back in his absence.
“He is going good, he is not far away as well – two weeks away from returning to the group. It is a bit ahead of time and he works with a fantastic attitude,” Wenger said.
“He is unbelievably focused, motivated every day and he is a credit himself. It is a joy to see how hard he works and sets himself targets. In two weeks we will assess how well he is doing in training.”
