Kashiwa Reysol added the 2012 J.League Super Cup to their growing silverware collection after a 2-1 win over Tokyo on Saturday.

Goals from Jorge Wagner and a Leandro Domingues penalty put Nelsinho Baptista’s men two goals up, and they held on despite Aria Hasegawa’s 65th-minute strike.

Emperor’s Cup and J2.League winners Tokyo dominated in the opening stages, but struggled to create clear-cut chances.

Against the run of play, Kashiwa Reysol broke the deadlock in the 26th minute at the National Olympic Stadium in Tokyo.

Brazilian forward Wagner’s powerful strike from just outside the penalty area gave his side the lead.

Leandro doubled their advantage with a penalty before the interval after Hideaki Kitajima was fouled by Masato Morishige in the box.

Reysol continued to pressure in the second half, but Tokyo pulled a goal back thanks to Hasegawa’s close-range header in the 65th minute.

Despite dominating the closing stages of the encounter, Tokyo failed to find an equaliser, leaving Reysol to collect the crown.
