Roma weighing up move for Michel Bastos; Corinthians not giving up on Tevez

Roma weighing up move for Michel Bastos

Roma have expressed interest in signing Lyon winger Michel Bastos, according to RMC.

The Brazilian is reportedly looking for a new challenge and he could be interested in a January move.

Bastos was heavily linked with a move to Juventus last summer, but the transfer eventually fell through.

The 28-year-old could move to Italian Serie A after all, but not necessarily to Turin.

According to RMC, Roma have made a check on the highly rated winger and the Giallorossi are now readying official bid for his services.

Bastos is believed to have met with Roma officials during the international break in November.

The Brazilian has enjoyed a great start to the season, scoring five goals and creating another five in thirteen league games.

Corinthians not giving up on Tevez

Brazilian giants Corinthians are still interested in signing Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez, according to the club president.

The Argentine forward is set to leave the club in January, with a host of European giants interested.

Milan are reportedly leading the race for the player’s signature, but his former club Corinthians are back in the running.

The Brazilians were close to agreeing a £40 million deal for Tevez in the summer, but the move eventually fell through.

However, Corinthians president Andres Sanchez has now revealed that they are still keen.

“I want to sign Tevez. We are going to hire a top-class player for 2012 and I hope it will be Tevez,” Sanchez was quoted as saying in The Sun.

“I don’t know how much we would pay but if Tevez decides to move, I’m sure he will play for us.”

Yannick Djalo claims Aston Villa deal

Sporting Lisbon striker Yannick Djalo claims that he is set to join Aston Villa in January.

The 25-year-old was supposed to move to Nice in the summer, but he wasn’t granted a permission to play for les Aiglons.

His transfer deadline move was not ratified by FIFA and seeing that Sporting refused to take him back, the player couldn’t play for either of the clubs.

According to Daily Mail, Nice are prepared to let the player leave in January even if he failed to play a single game for the club.

It now appears that Djalo is going to join Aston Villa as soon as the transfer window opens.

The Portuguese international yesterday posted a message on his Facebook page, claiming that he would move to Villa Park in January.

However, his current status will have to be resolved before any future deal as the dispute between Sporting Lisbon and Nice is still ongoing.
