Sheffield United have parted company with Chris Wilder and named Ruben Selles as his replacement.
Wilder returned to Bramall Lane for a second spell in December 2023 having led the club to the Premier League from League One during his first stint between 2016 and 2021.
The Blades were relegated at the end of that season and missed out in a tight race with Leeds United and Burnley in the race for automatic promotion from the Championship last term.
United then suffered play-off heartbreak at Wembley as they were beaten 2-1 by Sunderland in last month’s final.
Wilder departs the South Yorkshire outfit with a win percentage of 43.59 and 1.47 points per campaign, compared to 46.70 and 1.61 from his first spell.
Speaking to United’s official website, Wilder said: “It is with great regret that my time at Sheffield United has come to an end. I’d like to thank Stephen Bettis and Prince Abdullah for bringing me back to the club and giving me the opportunity to rebuild the team and take this great club forward.
