SPL wrap: Kilmarnock stun Celtic, Aberdeen down Dundee

Leaders Celtic have been shocked in Saturday’s Scottish Premier League action, beaten 2-0 at home by Kilmarnock.

Just four days after almost pulling off a monumental draw at Barcelona in the Champions League, goals from Cillian Sheridan and Liam Kelly saw Celtic suffer their first league loss to Kilmarnock in Glasgow since 1955.

The visitors stunned the Parkhead faithful two minutes before the interval when a slack pass from Adam Matthews towards Efe Ambrose saw the towering defender robbed by Sheridan and the former Celtic youngster made no mistake, rounding Forster and tapping the ball into the net.

And Kilmarnock made it 2-0 on the hour mark as Rory McKenzie was brought down on the edge of the area by Emilio Izaguirre, leading the referee to point to the spot and allowing Kelly to fire the penalty home.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Aberdeen moved level with second-placed Hibernian on 18 points when goals from Niall McGinn and Jonathan Hayes powered them to a 2-0 home win over bottom side Dundee.

Dundee United secured a much-needed win, with a 69th-minute penalty from Johnny Russell seeing them defeat St Mirren 1-0 in Paisley.

A last-gasp goal from John Sutton was enough to secure Hearts a 2-2 draw against Ross County, while David Robertson struck late on for St Johnstone to help them to a point in a 1-1 draw with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
