Mirror Football are today reporting that Manchester United are the favourites to sign Robin Van Persie.
This has been one of the most talked about stories in this summer’s transfer window after the Dutch international admitted he was not happy with life at the Emirates Stadium.
United are now the front runners to sign Van Persie as they look to build a side that can regain the English Premier League title.
The talks are set to go on for some time yet though as the Gunners are reluctant to sell their Captain unless the correct bid comes in.
Serie A side Juventus have also made a bid for the 28-year-old along with United‘s rivals Manchester City.
However, Van Persie seems to want to join up with the Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford. Trophies are what he wants to win and United are certainly a side capable of winning plenty.
What the Red Devils are hoping for is for Arsenal to accept an offer and Van Persie to agree terms, instead of going into a bidding war with City.
After a fantastic season the Holland man had for the London side, a few more clubs could come in for him.
