Pablo Olivera hit a hat-trick as Carabobo smashed Llaneros de Guanare 4-0 on the opening weekend of the Venezuela Primera Division.

The Uruguayan scored the opener on 14 minutes before doubling Carabobo’s advantage 10 minutes before half-time.

Olivera completed his treble from the spot in the 67th minute and substitute Rafael Garcia capped off the win on 82 minutes.

There was another 4-0 result as Caracas comfortably accounted for 10-man Trujillanos.

The clash was goalless just before half-time but a goal from Ricardo Andreutti on 44 minutes and defender Roberto Tucker’s spot-kick in first-half stoppage time established a healthy advantage for Caracas.

Tucker completed his brace on 65 minutes before Andres Sanchez rounded off the crushing victory four minutes later.

Atletico El Vigia recovered from being a goal behind to thump Deportivo Lara 4-1.

Jose Torrealba delighted his travelling support by scoring for Lara in the 25th minute, but Jerry Flores pulled a goal back before half-time to ensure the game was tied at the break.

A second-half brace within seven minutes from Jose Carrasquel sent Vigia on their way before Flores made it two for himself with a 62nd-minute strike.

Atletico Venezuela completed an extraordinary comeback to win 3-2 at home against Tucanes.

After early goals from Juan Garcia and Raul Vallona, Tucanes thought they were on their way to the three points before a Hector Perez double levelled the contest.

But Diego Menghi clinched the remarkable victory for Atletico Venezuela with a strike six minutes from time.

In other results, Estudiantes de Merida enjoyed a 3-2 victory at Aragua, Deportivo Tachira defeated Deportivo La Guaira 3-1 and Zamora achieved a 2-0 result against Yaracuyanos.

Deportivo Anzoategui won 1-0 against Deportivo Petare and Mineros de Guayana shaded Zulia 1-0.
