Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has been named the English Premier League manager of the month for December.
Villas-Boas’ men sit third in the league, with the Portuguese boss having led his side to four wins out of six during the month.
And upon receiving the award, Villas-Boas hailed an ‘excellent’ period for his side but stressed the need for consistency.
“It’s been an excellent December for us and we’ve managed to put ourselves in the kind of position that we want to be,” Villas-Boas told reporters.
“We sit third in the league, but it is where we finish at the end of the season that matters.
“At the moment we are on a good run of form which has given us a lot of confidence in the way that we approach the next few games.
“The Barclays Premier League is full of surprises and we need to keep going and showing the same level of performance in the months to come.”
Tottenham travel to Loftus Road on Saturday to face a Queens Park Rangers side now led by former manager Harry Redknapp.
