Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has demanded his players rediscover their form for a testing set of Premier League fixtures.
Spurs were beaten 1-0 by Wigan on Saturday, Ben Watson netting the only goal of the game at White Hart Lane as the hosts struggled for inspiration.
Villas-Boas needs his team to bounce back strongly with two tough away tests on the horizon, firstly at reigning champions Manchester City and then at north London rivals Arsenal.
“Our performances in those games will not be like this one, definitely,” Villas-Boas told reporters.
“What we need to do is recover from this defeat. Emotionally for us it is very important for us to bounce back and we have the type of games that can have that impact.
“They are games against the top teams at their ground. These are teams with the same objectives as us. We will bounce back.”
Despite fielding the likes of Gareth Bale, Jermain Defoe and Clint Dempsey against Wigan, Spurs failed to create enough openings in the game.
Villas-Boas denied he needs to add to his squad in January and instead stressed that the likes of Moussa Dembele, Scott Parker and Younes Kaboul will be key upon returning from injury.
“No, what we need in January is to recover the players we have injured,” the former Chelsea boss added.
“We have a lot of players injured at the moment. If everyone recovers then we have a great boost in terms of what we have available.”
