Matej Vydra’s agent insists there has been no decision made over the future of the young striker, currently on loan at Watford.

The Championship player of the year has been an integral part of Gianfranco Zola’s side this campaign, scoring 22 goals and helping Watford to the Championship play-off final.

He has two years remaining on his current deal at parent club Udinese but questions have been raised as to whether he will return to the Italian club, stay at Vicarage Road or join a new club completely with Tottenham reportedly interested.

Wherever his destination is, Vydra’s agent Ondrej Chovanec says the deal needs to be the best for the player.

He told Tuttoudinese.it: “So far he has scored 22 goals and was voted the best player in the Championship.

“He showed what he can do and is a great player. He is still under contract with Udinese for another two years.

“He arrived in Udine aged 18 and improved a great deal. Francesco Guidolin really helped him in his growth, while he also worked well with Antonio Di Natale and Alexis Sanchez.

“I have an excellent rapport with the Pozzo family. We met in March and agreed to make any decision after the end of the season.

“We need to find a solution that is best for the club and the boy. Both Udinese and Watford are doing very well, so we’ll see.”

Vydra is one of a string of players loaned from Udinese including Almen Abdi and Joel Ekstrand with the Pozzo family owning both clubs.
