West Ham defender charged with sexual assault

(GSM) – West Ham United star Manuel da Costa is a suspect of sexual assaualt after an incident occurred in an East London nightclub.

The Portuguese defender, who is alleged to have groped and assaulted a woman in Faces nightclub in Ilford, has now been released on bail.

Da Costa also reportedly went on to assault two of the woman’s friends after a row broke out.

“On Tuesday a 24-year-old man attended an East London police station by appointment, where he was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and common assault,” said a police spokesman.

“He was later bailed to return to the police station in early December pending further inquiries.”

Newcastle United star Andrew Carroll was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Laurie Henderson at her home earlier this week.
