Wolfsburg agree deal for Yannick Gerhardt

German media outlet Bild has learned that Wolfsburg have reached an agreement to sign FC Koln midfielder Yannick Gerhardt.

The two clubs have agreed on the deal believed to be worth €14 million in total, with the 22-year-old set to sign a five-year deal at Volkswagen Arena.

The Wolves are determined to make amends for what has been a largely disappointing season and they did well to secure the signature of one of Germany’s hottest prospects.

Gerhardt, who is also capable of playing at left-back, has shown a great deal of potential since coming through the youth ranks at FC Koln and has so far amassed 74 league appearances for the club.

The talented footballer has been an important member of the Germany Under-21 squad, making five appearances in the latest qualifying campaign.

He has now secured a big club move, getting a chance to further develop his skills at the highest level.
